Earlier today I found the video footage of the speaker of the House, Nancy Pelosi, declaring that the House passed the H.R. 5 - College Student Relief Act of 2007. This footage is from January and when I heard what came out of Nancy Pelosi's mouth, I was quite shocked. Watch the video and see if you can catch it also.
Did you catch it? If not, here's what shocked me. Nancy Pelosi states, "On this vote to reduce the cost of college tuition", what in Gods name is she talking about!?!?!? Clearly she has NO clue what H.R.5 actually does. H.R. 5 is a bill proposed to lower the student loan interest rates on student loans over five years and then raise them back after the five year term. H.R. 5 has absolutely NOTHING to do with college tuition. In fact, as reported by CollegeBoard.com the price of college tuition is on the rise again, up 5.9% from last year.
So I ask this, was our speaker of the house, Nancy Pelosi, tricked by the H.R. 5 bill also or does she actually not have any clue what bills they are passing in the House?
